Sirrus Launches 'FirstWatch' - an innovative new Remote Vision System for boat owners and marina managers

First Watch is a new concept developed by Sirrus that enables marina managers and boat owners to view their boats at the marina live on their office or home computer, using a standard Internet connection.

It is primarily aimed at marina managers as powerful customer service tool, enabling them to provide a chargeable service to their berth holders. It can also be used by them as a new concept in safety and security for their marina.

The heart of the technology is the latest in CCTV cameras with a pioneering Remote Vision system. Images are relayed from the cameras to a web server which gives customers the ability to see their boat live on their computer from the First Watch web site, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from anywhere.

Sirrus anticipates that this unique system will not only give boat owners peace of mind, knowing that they can keep an eye on their boat on-line, but will also provide marina managers with added benefits. Paul Davey, Sirrus' Managing Director, explains:

"This is the only system in the world to allow people to view live footage of their boat from a computer, existing CCTV cameras can only be operated via a central control room. We believe that by implementing First Watch it will give the marina a wireless state-of-the-art CCTV security system that not only enhances the marinas reputation, but will also enable the marina manager to make additional revenue from the system at the same time. The marina manager can decide on a subscription rate and charge the service out to their berth holders".

The marina manager can use First Watch for a number of different purposes; to ensure that security is a priority, for berth utilisation and 'traffic' management, to provide additional revenue and even use it as a marketing tool.
