for users of the Grandeye Halocam IP
360° camera

For fans of the remarkable Grandeye Halocam-IP camera, you can use any of our IPVR-300, 350, 220 or 250 series NVRs to record the Halocam-IP.

The amazing feature of the Grandeye is that the image captured is one whole "half-world-view" - a 180-degree hemispheric view of the entire scene in front of the camera - or beneath it, in the case of a ceiling- or pendant-mounted example. The image is captured in a huge 5 Megapixels of resolution.

The Halocam offers "virtual PTZ" functionality, in that any region of the "hemispheric" view can be "de-warped" and zoomed - entirely electronically, there are no moving parts - to present a conventional, rectangular view of ANY part of the scene in front of the camera. Everything in the scene is there to be examined in more detail at any point, and the camera offers four live "virtual camera" views which can be panned to anywhere in the scene, independently. We can record those "Vcam" views for you if you wish.

But what is truly remarkable about the combination of the Grandeye Halocam with our NVRs, is that because we can record the "half world view" video from the camera also, we can then "de-warp"  -  and so pan, tilt and zoom  -  within the playback footage  from the camera as well.

'Retrospective-PTZ'
This facility gives the user the capability, not possible with any mechanical PTZ technology, of "looking around" any part of the historically recorded scene, and the freedom to zoom in and pan around looking for specific detail, which may not even have been noticed at the time an event occurred. Because the whole 'half world view' is recorded, nothing is missed - wherever in the room an event might occur. For example, if a Halocam is placed in the ceiling of an open plan office space, a lobby or restaurant perhaps, the WHOLE room is captured by this one camera, owing to the 360-degree view, and the ability to 'de-warp' any part of it.

So if you are using the Grandeye, please call and ask about our Sirrus Grandeye Playback tool which offers the de-warp and 'retrospective-PTZ' facility. Details of our NVRs can be found here.  [ For more information on the Halocam, see the Grandeye website at  www.grandeye.com ]
